Repha GmbH invests a significant part of sales in researching its medicines, because only by means of active research alternative medicine and science can be brought together. The goal of this is the following: To confirm the efficacy and safety of the products, which have been handed down from decades of experience in alternative medicine, using studies which meet the current standards of modern science.
In order to do this, Repha works closely with German universities and clinics. Under the direction of professors, both clinical studies and basic research will be conducted there. Repha’s research partners include, for example, the University Hospitals of Essen-Mitte, universities in Freiburg, Leipzig, Heidelberg and Gießen and Berlin Charité. In particular, our research foscusses on the efficacy of the two herbal medicines, ANGOCIN® Anti-Infekt N and MYRRHINIL-INTEST®.
Another focus of the research work is the close cooperation with medical practices and study centres. By using prospective cohort studies, the doctors investigate the efficacy of these medicines in their day-to-day practice, under real conditions and with real patients. The focus of this is on large-scale efficacy studies involving numerous medical practices throughout Germany. Multi-centre studies have been and are being carried out for the herbal enzyme preparation NORTASE® as well as for ANGOCIN® Anti-Infekt N and MYRRHINIL-INTEST®.

All the studies are carried out in Germany in order to meet the high scientific quality standards. The guidelines and motivation of the Repha research form the bases of “evidence-based medicine”, or “EBM” for short. EBM requires medical treatment to be based on evidence, i.e. for the efficacy of a type of treatment to have been confirmed by scientific studies and clinical experience.
Over the past 10 years alone, Repha has carried out over 35 research projects in order to review and continue to develop the efficacy and safety of its products. Further studies are currently being carried out and being planned.
