Gebrauchsinformation ANGOCIN® Anti-Infekt N

Mustard oils from nasturtium and horseradish should be used as first-line therapy for cystitis. The plant compounds have multiple mechanisms of action that enable efficient treatment of acute uncomplicated and frequently recurring urinary tract infections. They have a pronounced antibacterial and anti-inflammatory spectrum of activity and can also inhibit the formation of biofilms and prevent the attachment (adhesion) of bacterial pathogens to the cells of the bladder wall. These are probably the reasons why the herbal mustard oils can successfully counteract the occurrence of recurrences. The phytotherapeutic agent also contributes to the mitigation of the resistance problem, as the use of the mustard oils offers the possibility of reducing the use of antibiotics and thus reducing the resistance pressure.
In addition, no development of resistance to the mustard oil glycosides has been observed to date. As co-author of the S3-guideline "Epidemiology, diagnosis, therapy and management of uncomplicated bacterial community-acquired urinary tract infections in adult patients", I therefore advocate that the combination of nasturtium and horseradish, such as ANGOCIN® Anti-Infekt N, should also be considered for acute urinary tract infections in the new version of the guideline, and not only for recurrent cystitis, as has been the case to date. It would be desirable for the relevant expert committees in other countries to also speak out in favor of the use of the mustard oil combination for acute and frequently recurring cystitis. Bacteria that have become insensitive to antibiotics do not stop at national borders, but the resistance problem has now assumed threatening dimensions worldwide, as the WHO also regularly emphasizes.

MYRRHINIL-INTEST® has proven it's effectiveness with all three complaints and due to this we offer the product to many of our irritable bowel patients. In addition to that the good tolerability of the herbal remedy MYRRHINIL-INTEST® makes it possible to take it longterm with almost no side effects. Enzyme substitution is the gold standard in the treatment of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Since preparations with digestive enzymes from fungi also develop their lipo- and proteolytic effect in an acidic environment, no additional intake of bicarbonate is required, in contrast to preparations with enzymes from porcine pancreas. The therapy for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency has become more convenient for the patient, since the patient no longer has to take two pharmaceuticals.
